Fulvetta - Family Overview
Fulvettas are small passerine birds belonging to the family Pellorneidae. They are characterised by compact bodies, short rounded wings, and a preference for moving through dense undergrowth in forested habitats.
Members of this group are typically found in evergreen and mixed forests, forest edges, and dense scrub. They forage mainly for insects and other small invertebrates, often keeping low in vegetation and moving actively in pairs or small groups.
In the Indian subcontinent, fulvettas occur primarily in hill and montane regions, especially in the Himalayas and the northeastern states. They are usually unobtrusive and are more often detected by movement or calls than by prolonged views.
