Crows – Group Overview

Crows are highly intelligent, adaptable passerine birds found across a wide range of habitats including forests, farmland, wetlands, mountains, and urban environments. They are often conspicuous due to their size, loud calls, and confident behaviour.

Crows belong to the family Corvidae, which also includes ravens, rooks, jackdaws, jays, and magpies. They are omnivorous, feeding on insects, fruits, seeds, carrion, and human food waste, allowing them to thrive in diverse landscapes.

Known for their problem-solving abilities and social complexity, crows often live in pairs or loose groups and show strong learning and memory skills. Their adaptability has made them one of the most widespread and successful bird groups globally.

This section features photographs of crows documented across varied habitats, highlighting differences in size, bill shape, plumage, and behaviour among species.
